An installation for the production of a casting in a split casting mould, in which system a cavity is produced in a moulding material as part of a pattern-bounded mould cavity for the casting and this mould cavity is filled with molten metal, at least one supporting member which receives the mould being provided, is intended to enable the use of green sand to be dispensed with particularly for the series production of castings and to enable the provision of a casting mould which is simple to produce and inexpensive with a low consumption of moulding material but with sufficient gas permeability. For this purpose, it is proposed to arrange downstream of a casting station (76) a treatment station (88) for the mould (11) containing the chemically bound moulding material (Q), the said treatment station having a lifting device (25) for a mould-box part (13) and a removal device for the aligned removal of the casting (G) from the open mould. <IMAGE>
