MANUFACTURING METHOD OF A COMPOUND WIRE BY AN EXTRUSION

摘要

A manufacturing method of a compound wire by extrusion uses 5056 Al alloy with good toughness and corrosion reistance as core material and 6253 Al alloy with good formability and corrosion resistance as skinning material. A billet composed of above two materials is used and the cross sectional area of the skinning material should be above 16%. A compound wire of about 15mm diameter is made by hot extrusion at 300≦̸C and a drawing of this wire gives the compound wire of a designed diameter. A compound wire manufactured by this process has good toughness and corrosion resistance.
