PURPOSE: A method for automatically upgrading a program in an internet television is provided to upgrade a program automatically by connecting to the internet and searching a program to be upgraded if a time displayed by a timer is corresponded to the time to be upgraded. CONSTITUTION: A high frequency amplifying unit(151) amplifies a high frequency signal received from an antenna(100). A tuner unit(150) comprises a mixing unit(152) for receiving an input signal amplified from the high frequency amplifying unit(151) and a local oscillating frequency from a local oscillating unit(153) and converting into a medium frequency and the local oscillating unit(153) supplying a frequency converting signal to the mixing unit(152). An IF amplifying unit(200) amplifies an intermediate frequency signal applied from the tuner unit(150). A video detection unit(250) detects only a video signal out of complex video signals outputted from the IF amplifying unit(200). A switching unit(350) switches a video signal applied from the video detection unit(250) and an Internet module unit(300). The internet module unit(300) processes an internet related signal through a video 3 port of a TV, and applies the signal to the switching unit(350). A Y/C separation unit(400) separates a brightness signal and a color signal being mixed in the video signal outputted from the video detection unit(250). A main video process IC(450) receives, processes and amplifies a video signal outputted from the switching unit(350), and outputs the signal to a picture tube drive(500). A micro computer(700) applies a control signal to the switching unit(350), the switching unit(350) and the main video process IC(450) in accordance with a signal generated from a key input unit(750). A memory unit(650) stores a time signal generated from the key input unit(750). A timer(600) displays the current time at the external portion of the Internet TV.
