<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely control the occurrence of torque shock at the switching of a combustion mode. SOLUTION: An engine 11 rotates a crankshaft 17 by burning a gas mixture of intake air and a fuel, and switches a combustion mode according to a switching requirement based on an engine operation condition. A motor generator(MG) 55 is linked to drive to the crankshaft 17, and the actuators 31 and 34 control the circulation condition of the intake air by changing the opening degrees of a throttle valve 26 and a swirl control valve 32. An electronic control unit switches the control of the actuators 31 and 34, according to the switching requirement of combustion mode, to that according to the switched combustion mode. Then, combustion is stopped for the period from the occurrence of switching requirement till the circulation condition of the intake air is switched to the state corresponded to the switched combustion mode along with switching of the actuators 31 and 34, and within the period of stopping combustion, the motor generator(MG) 55 is operated to rotate the crankshaft 17.</p> |
