<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single screw compressor capable of maintaining leak of gas to be compressed small and of low manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This compressor is provided with a screw rotor 1 installed in a casing and having six grooves 2 and a gate rotor 4 having twelve teeth 5. Since six of the number of the grooves 2 of the screw rotor 1 and twelve of the number of the teeth 5 of the gate rotor have common divisor, the combination of the groove 2 and the tooth 5 meshing with each other is divided into six groups. Dimension precision is controlled to maintain an appropriate clearance between the groove 2 and the tooth 5 meshing with each other in each group. Since it is easier to manufacture the grove 2 and the tooth 5 with controlling dimensional precision in each group than to manufacturing the same with controlling dimensional precision of whole grooves and teeth consequently as a conventional process, the cost of the single screw compressor can be reduced.</p> |
