A method for driving an LCD panel driver electronic apparatus using packet transfer and an apparatus thereof, which is suitable a liquid crystal displays(LCDs) that is independent of pixel rate and provides a high speed, high bandwidth digital display platform. The method drives pixels(210) selected through related data latches(220-1,220-2,220-3,220-n) included in a column driver in a digital display apparatus. According to the method, a number of video data packets(228) are provided to the column driver directly with one link speed. Each data latch is filled with proper video data on the basis of the video data packets within a line period. The selected pixels are driven on the basis of the video data. And the above steps are repeated for all frame lines in one video frame. A video signal is generated in a video source connected to the digital display apparatus using one link. And a packet based video stream is formed on the basis of the video signal. And the packet based video stream is transmitted to the digital display apparatus using a link in the link speed.
