PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analyzer constituted so as to detect the light emitted from an analyte with high precision even if background light is contained in detected light. SOLUTION: An analyte substrate 1 has a first cell wherein the analyte and a buffer are developed and a second cell wherein only the buffer is developed. An optical pickup 62 detects the detection light emitted when the first cell is irradiated with a laser beam (i) and the background light emitted by irradiating the second cell with the laser beam (i). A quantity-of-light detecting circuit 65 forms not only a detection light signal showing the intensity of the detection light but also a background light signal showing the intensity of background light and constituted so as to subtract the background light signal from a detection light signal to remove the intensity component of the background light from the intensity of the detected light. By this constitution, even if the background light is contained in the detection light, the light emitted from the analyte can be detected with high precision. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
