PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain light that has a wide wavelength band, high output and small output deviation by using a 1st (M-input × N-output) optical parts which has a branching function and an optical amplifier including P pieces of optical amplifying means which individually amplify the beams outputted from P pieces of output terminals among N pieces of output terminals of the 1st optical parts (M: an integer of 1 or more, N: an integer of 2 or more, P: an integer of 1 or more and N or less). SOLUTION: An optical amplifier 20 includes a pre-optical amplifying part 21 and a post-optical amplifying part 23 which are cascaded to each other. The part 23 branches the light that is outputted from the part 21 and transmitted through a dispersion compensating fiber serving as a 2nd optical parts 25 by means of a wavelength multiplexing coupler serving as a 1st optical parts 23a and then amplifies each of branched beams by each corresponding optical amplifying means 23b. Every means 23b suffices as long as it can amplify a branched beam of a narrow band, and the light having high output and a small output deviation is obtained from every means 23b. Thereby, the light that has a wide band, high output and a small output deviation of each band is obtained when the outputs of those means 23b are added together. |
