<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device that does not require a cooling fan for heat-dissipation, processing for high-temperature exhaust, and spaces for the cooling fan and the processing even if having lithium-ion batteries or nickel-hydrogen batteries, or the like, that require charge/discharge control based on the temperature as on-board batteries. <P>SOLUTION: The power supply device is provided with a first battery 9, which is charged by an on-board generator 7 so as to supply power to electric load groups 8, a boosting means 5 for boosting power generated by the in-vehicle generator 7, and a second battery 1 that is charged by the boosted power so as to supply power to other electric loads 2, while executing heat-dissipation through a heat-dissipating member (unillustrated). The power supply device is also provided with a thermoelectric conversion element 12 for absorbing heat from the heat-dissipating member during energization, a temperature detector 11 for detecting a temperature of the second battery 1, a means 10 for determining whether the detected temperature exceeds a first temperature, and an energizing means 13 that supplies power from the on-board generator 7 or from the first battery 9 to the thermoelectric conversion element 12 when determined that the detected temperature exceeds the first temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
