PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ionomer deterioration detection method that has an asymmetric annular structure.SOLUTION: A deterioration detection method of ionomer in which a polymerization ratio of monomer constituting a repeating unit having an asymmetric annular structure to be expressed by a specific expression is equal to or more than 65 mol% includes: a preparation process of preparing a three-pole type cell implementing an electro-chemical measurement; a process 1 of coating the ionomer on a platinum-made action pole; a process 2 of setting the action pole to the three-pole type cell, sweeping potential of the action pole from 0.1 V to 1.0 V (vs.RHE), and acquiring electric current data; a process 3 of calculating a gradient (mV/decade) of potential with respect to a reaction electric current from the data obtained in the process 2; and a process 4 of determining that the ionomer deteriorates when the gradient of the potential calculated in the process 3 is equal to or more than 70 mV/decade.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
