A support for a portable electric cutting machine comprises a frame 1, a column 7 having at its upper end an oscillating arm 10 provided with a counterweight 11 and a collar 21 and a strap 15 for fixing the machine to the arm, the collar and strap being adjustable relative to the arm so that a grinding wheel 18 of the machine can be set to a desired position. The frame has a member 2 against which a workpiece can be held by an eccentric 3, the workpiece abutting a stop 4 for determining the length to be cut-off from the workpiece. A pin 9 is journalled in the upper end of the column and is secured to the arm 10 by nuts 13. The counterweight is formed at one end of the arm and the other end receives a sleeve 14 adjustably secured in position by nuts 16. The strap 15 is carried by the sleeve for locating a part of the portable cutting machine which is also secured to the arm by the collar 21 having a screw-and-nut connection 22 with a slot 23 in the arm. |
