PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for sewing machine motors which can increase the penetration force of the sewing needle of a sewing machine when thick cloth is sewn, set the magnitude of penetration force easily and precisely, and develop only slight vibration. SOLUTION: A speed deviation value e is calculated from a value V of the rotational speed of the spindle 4 of a sewing machine, detected by a speed detect circuit 6 and a target speed command value R output from a target speed command device 7 using a subtractor 8. A command torque value Uc is calculated using a proportional integration compensator 10, and is output to a torque controller 16. It is judged at the torque controller 16 that the command torque value Uc is equal to or above a specified torque value, the higher torque value and the lower toque value are alternately output to a motor drive circuit 12. |
