Continuous artificial diamond prodn - in high temp metal reactor

Diamonds are grown from C-contg. gases in enclosed units reactor system including a conveyor system for the diamond crystals produced and a regenerating and cleaning chamber. The reaction chambers are made from high temp alloys of Mo, W, Ta, Rh, with Pt permitting operating temps between 600 and 1600 degrees C, and working pressures between 0.01 Torr and 100 atmospheres. Pressure equalisation in the outer reaction chamber in relation to the main reaction chamber is effected by protective gases which are fed separately to the reactors. The plant permits commercial size throughputs.
