PURPOSE:To obtain a compact fingerprint reader and to obtain an image having a focused state at any point by moving a 1-dimensional image sensor and a lens in parallel to the position of an apparent image of a finger contact surface. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from a light source 11 is made incident almost vertically on a face 23 of a rectangular prism 21 and radiates a finger contact surface 22. The reflected light of light radiating a finger 1 is projected almost vertically on a face 24 of the prism 21 to form an image on an image sensor 31 via an image forming lens 32. Both the lens 32 and the sensor 31 move in a body in the X-Y direction which is parallel with the direction A'-B' showing the image position of the surface 22. A moving distance sensor 41 detects the moving distance of the sensor 31 and inputs information on the sensor 31 to an image memory 51 as a parameter. Then the data on the memory 51 are stored for acquisition of the image data on an entire fingerprint collecting area. |
