PURPOSE:To produce dense sintered compact of beta-alumina without particle orientation. CONSTITUTION:A solvent for the compound containing sodium, aluminum, magnesium and/or lithium is thermally sprayed at a temperature lower than 1,000 deg.C to effect thermal decomposition. The product powder is crushed without heat treatment or with heat treatment at a temperature lower than 1,000 deg.C to prepare a powder having 2 to 15wt.% moisture content controlled. The powdery product is directly molded and sintered. |
