摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of initializing a phase-change type optical disk capable of improving a jitter characteristic. SOLUTION: This method includes a step S1 for preparing a phase-change type optical disk wherein a 1st dielectric film, a recording film consisting of an amorphous structure-distributed crystalline structure, a 2nd dielectric film, and a reflective film are sequentially deposited on a substrate, a step S2 for phase-changing a crystalline structure in the recording film into an amorphous structure by irradiating the optical disk with a high power laser beam capable of heating up the recording film higher than the melting point, and a step S3 for phase-changing the amorphous structure into the crystalline structure by irradiating the optical disk with a low power laser beam capable of heating up the recording film in a range exceeding the recrystallizing temperature and not exceeding the melting point.</p>
