PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic cell of an electrolytic water generator which can surely supply sufficient electric power to the electrodes of a membrane-electrode structure. SOLUTION: The electrolytic cell is equipped with a pair of electrolytic chambers 5, 6 disposed so as to face each other through an ion-permeable diaphragm 11, and a pair of the electrodes 12a, 12b installed in the electrolytic chambers 5, 6 so as to place the diaphragm 11 between them. The electrolytic cell is equipped with the membrane-electrode structure 2 formed by sticking the electrodes 12a, 12b fast to the diaphragm 11, reticulated current collectors 13, 14, connecting members 15, 16 passing through the outer walls of the electrolytic chambers 5, 6 and connecting the reticulated current collectors 13, 14 to an external power source, and an elastic member 23 energizing the connecting members 15, 16 in the directions of the current collectors 13, 14. The electrolytic chambers 5, 6 have the connecting members 15, 16 at positions opposite to each other on both sides of the membrane-electrode structure 2. The electrolytic chambers 5, 6 have projection parts 29, 30 on their inner walls, and the projection parts 29, 30 are installed at one positions opposite to each other on both sides of the membrane-electrode structure 2 and the connecting members 15, 16 are installed at the other positions opposite to each other on both sides of the membrane-electrode structure 2.
