PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic head supporting device and its method unnecessitating the positioning adjusting of a head at the time of installing a magnetic head supporting body to a recorder/reader. CONSTITUTION: The device and method speedily and accurately positions the rotary magnetic head for the recorder/reader. The supporting body 12 for the magnetic head is provided with a turntable 14 and a counter table 16 and the respective tables are provided with a circular and common rotary axis line 4, peripheral supporting areas and central supporting areas. A magnetic 18 is arranged at the peripheral part of the turntable 14. A screw brings the peripheral supporting areas into contact with each other and next brings the central supporting areas into contact with each other. The method and device can be applied to recording information on a magnetic tape and/or reading information on the magnetic tape. |
