PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of improving partial poor-resolution of an image sensor. SOLUTION: The image reader is provided with the image sensor for executing photoelectric conversion while receiving reflected-light from an object to be read, a calculation means for calculating an MTF on the basis of a maximum value and a minimum value of an image signal read from an MTF measuring pattern for each region, a judgement means for judging whether or not the calculated MTF is in a prescribed range, and a processing means for executing processing to a region which is determined to be out of the prescribed range by a determination means.
