PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor driver circuit which can shorten the time until the damping vibration of a rotor is stopped, while suppressing increase in the amount generated amount by a stepping motor. SOLUTION: The motor driver circuit 10, for controlling a stepping motor 20 having a stator coil and a rotor driven by the stator coil for changing a target angle in a step unit, is provided. The motor driver circuit 10 includes a phase excitation pattern generation circuit 102 for generating a phase excitation pattern to decide the exciting order of the stator coil, a motor current control circuit 101 controlled by the phase excitation pattern generation circuit 102 for controlling the drive current flowing into the stator coil, and a current level switching circuit 103 for controlling the motor current control circuit 101 so as to increase the drive current by only a fixed time, immediately after starting of stop operation to the target angle of the rotor.
