PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a face/finger compound authentication system for automatically registering data corresponding to a setting environment even when it is placed in an environment where authentication precision is deteriorated. SOLUTION: This face/finger compound authentication system is provided with a plurality of face/finger compound authentication devices 202 and a server 200 in which the data for device of the face categorized by each device and the common data of the face and finger common to a plurality of devices are registered. The face/finger compound authentication device 202 temporarily stores the captured face data, and to, when the temporarily stored face data are defined as data for device corresponding to a server, performs face collation with the data for device, and to, when there are not any data for device, performs face collation with the common data, and to, when a threshold acquired as the result of collation is an authentication threshold or more, performs OK processing, and to, when the threshold is a constant threshold which is smaller than the authentication threshold or less, performs collation NG processing, and, when the threshold is ranging from a fixed threshold or more to the authentication threshold or less, collates the captured finger data with the finger data registered as the common data, and registers the temporarily stored face data as the data for device in the server, and performs collation OK processing in performing personal identification.
