The present invention relates to a novel compound for an organic electroluminescent device, and an organic electroluminescent device containing the same and, more specifically, to a novel anthracene-based compound capable of being used in an organic electroluminescent device, and an organic electroluminescent device having excellent characteristics such as low driving voltage, high luminous efficiency and long lifespan by containing the same.
