PURPOSE:To enhance a printing with a monochromatic ribbon ink and a printing with a YMC color ink in quality, by a method wherein, a recording element alignment is provided on one end of a recording head in a printing direction, and a reciprocating printing is carried out. CONSTITUTION:A ribbon cassette 2 is provided with a Black ribbon cassette B on an upper stage and a Yellow, Magenta, and Cyan ribbon cassette YMC on a lower stage. The B ribbon cassette 2a has a take-up core 4a, and on the contrary the YMC ribbon cassette 2b has a take-up core 4b. When a B printing is carried out, a take-up knob for B 3a and the core 4a engage with each other, and a B ribbon in the B ribbon cassette 2a is fed in a direction of an arrow (a). On the contrary, when a YMC printing is performed, the ribbon cassette 2 is moved up from a carriage 1, and a take-up nob for YMC 3b and the core 4b are engaged with each other. In this manner, a YMC ribbon in the YMC ribbon cassette 2b is fed in a direction of an arrow (b). |
