Class 132(2) In a bowling alley, bowling beyond the foul line is detected photo-electrically by a mechanism in a housing which also contains the foul signalling lamp. On interruption of the light beam incident on a resistive type photo-cell 50, there is a delay caused by discharge of condenser 56 through the coil 55 of a relay, before the relay is de-energized to release latch 60 for pivotal movement about pivot 61 by tension spring 62. Release of spring arm 68 from latch 60 closes contacts 65, 66 and 67 and energizes foul signalling lamp 31, timer motor 71 and buzzer 30. The timer motor 71 rotates cam 73 which engages under arm 69 to open contacts 66, 67 and lift arm 68 back to latch 60. An automatic pin-setting cycle is started by cam 73 engaging arm 82. The delay time may be varied by adjusting resistance 52. |
