[Also in Division B3] A can has an end 6 seamed to a can body 14 by forming the end with a stepped countersink 12 and a flange 8 terminating in a tongue 10, and closing the flange against the can so that the tongue 10 deforms the can and forms a groove 20 coinciding with the step 12. The can body may be of circular or irregular cross-section. The seam may be sealed by an adhesive, sealing compound or solder. |
