<p>Prodn. of a vinyl chloride ether copolymer with 15-35, 1-6C vinyl ether units in the alkyl chain. A 1-6C alkyl vinyl ether is suspended in an aq. medium of pH 7-11 and contg. a protective colloid comprising polyvinylpyrrolidone, gelatine PVA methylcellulose, hydroxyethycellulose or their mixtures as well as a radical initiator soluble in org. solvents forming free radicals at a temp. 70 degrees C and vinyl chloride is then slowly added discontinuously during the reaction time. Give high m.w. product with no solvent.</p> |
