The incremental longitudinal and angular measurement system is designed for use with electronic counters and provides a reference marker whose position w.r.t. the grating divisions is absolutely fixed. The measuring system uses an electronic up-down counter which is either automatically stopped when the set or reset button has been pressed and a pulse appears from the reference marker, or automatically stores the measured value associated with the reference market. The counter is set to the value read out during the preceding stop sequence when the reference pulse appears or is set to the count which was stored automatically. An alarm circuit ensures that if the mains supply fails the counter is realigned with the reference mark value which it then re-stores. |
