An interior well seal for a vertically sliding vehicle window comprises an internal lining, which may be constituted by a lining or facing layer 1, a flexible foam layer 2 and a cardboard liner 3, connected with each other in known manner, e.g. by high frequency welded seam lines, the lining following the coachwork internal wall 11 and curved over at the top into the wall 12, the layer 1 having a strip-like velvety fibre layer 4 integral with the top part of the lining which is curved over into the well. As shown, the layer 4 is directly applied on the lining, alternatively the sealing strip is a separate strip welded to the internal lining and in a separate operation receives a layer 4 and the separate strip may have a sealing lip and may be welded directly to the cardboard layer 3. The foam layer may be discarded in the neighbourhood of the well or this part of the foam which curves into the well may be integral with an elasticated, high-grip surface which replaces the lining layer 1 and cardboard layer 3 and is appropriately formed with a layer 4 for the seal. |
