Rail trolley system 10 for launching and hauling up boats. The system comprises a pair of rails 12 and a trolley 14, moveable thereon and transporting the boat. The pair of rails 12 are carried on a support 16 with a pair of rollers 42 supporting the rails, along which the pair of rails 12 can be moved in their longitudinal direction relative to the support. When launching boats the pair of rails can be rotated about the pair of rollers 42, so that, for example the end of the pair of rails facing the shore is lowered down into the water. <IMAGE>
