1529836 Tocopherol esters EISAI Co Ltd 13 Nov 1975 [13 Nov 1974] 46934/75 Heading C2V In a process for the optical resolution of a mixture of 2D- and 2L-α-tocopherol esters the esters are reacted with an enzyme which has the ability to hydrolyse selectively one of the isomers and then the unhydrolysed ester is separated from the hydrolysedα-tocopherol. In examples isomeric mixtures ofα-tocopherol stearate, linoleate,caproate, succinate and monochloroacetate are selectively hydrolysed to one of theα-tocopherol isomers with enzymes derived from Candida cylindracea, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Rhizopus oryzae and Aspergillus niger.
