Shaft seal assembly - with two back=to=back l=shaped seal rings made of two different specified materials

A shaft seal assembly for self-lubricated running gear bearings of crawler vehicles, to seal the rollers (4), uses two L-shaped sliding rings (1,2) with a conical shape outside. The corresponding back-up cone is in the roller (4) or in the bearing housing (5). The entire sliding ring (2) is made of metal, pref. steel of 64 HRC or aluminium alloy and the sliding ring (1) is coated with plastics or pref. entirely made of plastics which is heat resistant at least up to 90 deg.C, e.g. PA or PE. ADVANTAGE - This sealing assembly resists both corrosion and abrasion.
