The two-stroke IC engine with reverse scavenging, has an exhaust port (8) connected to the exhaust duct (4). The exhaust duct (4) in the region (5) which adjoins the port (8), is divided into parallel passageways (12) by sheet metal walls (10). One or more of these passageways (12) can be shut off by a sliding throttle plate (13) which is mounted in a slot in the duct wall. The slider (13) position is varied by an actuator controlled by sensors so that the slider position depends on engine speed and load. USE/ADVANTAGE - Increased efficiency of a two-stroke engine.
