PURPOSE:To provide an automatic toll payment device which eliminates the trouble to install a dedicated transmitter for payment of a expressway toll in an automotive vehicle and enables the user to smoothly perform interactive information transmission and confirmation for the toll payment. CONSTITUTION:The automatic toll payment device has a radio base station part 17 which receives a service request signal from a user who carries a radio telephone, a certification center part 21 which retrieves data on the service requesting user according to the registration number of the radio telephone bearer received by the radio base station part 17 and sends it to the radio base station, and a pattern recognizing circuit part 25 which inputs the vehicle number of the actual user through a camera and recognizes its pattern to detect the vehicle body number. The device is equipped with a control means which compares the vehicle number obtained by the pattern recognition with the vehicle number sent from the certification center part 21 to decide whether they match each other, and opens or closes an entrance opening/closing machine part 26 according to the decision result. |
