The device (1) for connecting to earth an overhead line (2) includes a clamp contact (3), which is to be hung on the line, and a cable (4) which links the clamp to a vice (5). The vice is fixed on a metallic object (6) connected to earth.A pole (8) is provided for hanging the clamp to the line. The pole extremity has a clamp holder which includes a tubular base (10) engaging the pole extremity (11). The vice includes fix and mobile jaws, the latter being attached to a threaded rod (15) engaging a threaded hole (17).
