PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a screw hole for the attachment of a disc from the adhesion of cuttings and foreign substances. SOLUTION: A spindle motor consists of a rotary shaft 1, a bearing 25 for rotatably supporting the rotary shaft 1, a hub 2 fixed to the rotary shaft 1, a rotor magnet 8 and a rotor frame 16 which is a yoke for the rotor magnet 8. A screw hole for the attachment of a disc pierces through the hub 2, and the rotor frame 16 is extended in a radial direction so as to cover the screw hole. |
