PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial force measuring instrument that can sensitively measure axial force working on an axial part of a measurement object, such as a bolt or a nut, without entailing any change in its strength or structure.SOLUTION: An instrument for measuring axial force working on an axial part of a member having the axial part comprises a main body 2 so installed near the axial part of the member that, when a force works on the axial part of the member in the axial direction, the force works on the axial part of the member in the axial direction; and a detector 10 installed on the main body 2 to measure force working on the main body 2. The detector 10 is an FBG optical fiber 11 having an FBG part 15 in which fiber Bragg grating is formed. The FBG optical fiber 11 is so fitted to the main body 2 that the axial direction of the FBG part 15 does not cross the axial direction of the axial part of the member orthogonally in a state in which the main body 2 is installed near the axial member of the member. |
