PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information terminal which makes an image displayed at a video display part easy to see by providing a shield part and is improved in operability. SOLUTION: This portable information terminal is equipped with a video display part 700 having an image display panel 710 which displays an image and an enlargement optical system 711 which enlarges the display of the image display panel and a housing 101 having an opening part 102 for viewing the image displayed at the video display part 700 with one eye and provides a virtual image for user. This portable information terminal 100 has the shield part 107 which is fitted to the housing 101 and covers the eye other than one eye peeping in the opening part 102.
