PURPOSE:To obtain an anisotropic rare earth magnet having high magnetic characteristics, by a method wherein material alloy shown by R2Fe17 is turned into a fused state and ground by absorbing hydrogen in a hydrogen gas stream, dehydrogenation is performed in a vacuum, nitriding and fine grinding are performed, organic binder is mixed, and molding is performed in a magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:Material alloy shown by a chemical formula R2Fe17 (R is rare earth metal) is turned into a fused state, and ground by absorbing hydrogen in a hydrogen gas stream whose flow rate is in the range from 0.08Acc/min to 0.12Acc/min when the internal capacity of an electric furnace is defined as Acc/min. After that, dehydrogenation is performed in a vacuum, nitriding and fine grinding are performed, organic binder is mixed, and an anisotropic rare earth magnet is manufactured by molding in a magnetic field. Thereby, magnetic characteristics shown by residual magnetic flux density, coercive force, and maximum energy product or the like can be improved. |
