<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly and slowly reproduce a fivefold speed recorded tape without increasing a load on a microcomputer and causing any noise bar. <P>SOLUTION: At the time of the slow reproduction, a capstan acceleration/deceleration means 303 accelerates a capstan for preset acceleration continuance time, then detects the edge of a capstan motor rotational frequency pulse, and the capstan motor 400 is subjected to servo control driving to decelerate the capstan after the lapse of a fixed time.
