PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner by emulsion polymerization and aggregation which has excellent fixability even at a high temperature while retaining intact other various properties and emits no odor offensive to people, and to provide a process of producing the toner. SOLUTION: The toner by emulsion polymerization and aggregation is characterized by having an odor index of 300 or lower in terms of the odor of aliphatic aldehydes as determined by gas chromatography. The toner is obtained via steps of polymerization, aggregation and ageing, and is characterized in that an emulsion polymerization latex prior to the aggregation step is a latex having a peroxide value of 30 or smaller.
