The invention relates to a method of cultivating the species Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench., which is a medicinal plant used for therapeutical purposes, in the treatment of colds, flu and which provides immunity to the body. According to the invention, the method consists in carrying out the base furrow at 25...30 cm, laying the manure below the furrow, in a dose of 40 t/ha, followed by the works of preparing the seedbed. The sowing is performed before winter, at the end of October - beginning of November, at the distance of 50 cm between rows and 15 cm between plants on a row, at the depth of 2 cm, at a rate of 3...6 kg/ha. The seeds for sowing are required to have the purity of at least 70%, and the germination ability of minimum 80%, and to originate from ecological cultures. In order to create optimal plant growing and developing conditions, mechanical and manual hoeing and weeding on the rows are performed whenever necessary, and the harvesting is performed at the maximum bloom of the plants, starting with the second vegetation year, manually or powered, after which the vegetal product is transported to drying spaces. The drying in performed naturally, in the shadow, or artificially, at the temperature of 35°C, the drying efficiency being of 3.5...4 : 1. The resulting crop yield is 6.0...9.0 t of dried herb. |
