PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard engine top cover capable of effectively suppressing the increase of an atmospheric temperature around an engine by providing a surface layer with a sufficient and stable reflection function of solar light and easily obtaining a cover of environment-friendly and stable surface quality, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: An outboard engine top cover 2 for covering the surroundings of an outboard engine fitted/supported to the stern of a hull to be steerable and vertically movable is configured by including a base material 8 having a recessed part 2a a lower part of which is opened, and a surface layer 9 having a vapor deposition metal layer 9b formed by vacuum-depositing vapor deposition metal on the surface of the base material. The surface layer includes a vapor deposition metal layer formed on the surface of the base material molded in advance by SMC molding, a top coat layer 9c formed on the surface of the vapor deposition layer, and the like.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
