Triglycine sulphate is used as the layer which varies its dielectric constant as a function of temperature and controls an electroluminescent layer. Strip electrodes are arranged in parallel on the latter and connected alternately to a voltage source. The electroluminescent layer contains ZnS(Cu) as the phosphor and urea formaldehyde as the bonding medium. the dielectric layer contains 5-10% ethyl cellulose as the bonding medium.
