1303636 Regulating I. C. engine fuel injection JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 1 May 1970 [12 May 1969] 24053/69 Heading FIB The flow of fuel to the respective injectors 17 associated with the cylinders of an engine 12 is controlled by a metering device 19 responsive to the air pressure in the inlet passage 16 downstream of the throttle valve 20 and upstream of a baffle 29. The baffle may be formed by a scoop (32), Fig.3 (not shown), which partially masks the end of the conduit 28 opening to the passage 16. The device 19 comprises a rotating sleeve 24 which distributes fuel from a pump 30 to the injectors 17 and contains a shuttle movable between a fixed stop 22 and a stop 23 co-operating with a cam 25. The cam 25 is operated by a diaphraghm 26 in response to the air-pressure communicated to the chamber 27 through the conduit 28. |
