A telemotor system Fig. 1 (not shown) for moving a load 122, comprises a double-acting hydraulic motor receiver 126 having a piston rod 132 fixed to the load, and a pair of singleacting cam operated transmitters d and e connected to the motor by liquid columns 150d, 150e to move the load against the counter-bias of an accumulator RO supplying the motor through a line 152 containing a piston valve 184 arranged to suddenly throttle the return supply from the motor to the accumulator, part way through the stroke,. to thereby decelerate the load. The piston valve 184, Fig. 2 (not shown) is slidable in a sleeved housing 170 having connections 160, 164 for the line 152 and a connection 196 for a liquid column 150b associated with a further single-acting cam operated transmitter b. The piston valve 184 is normally urged against an adjustable stop 194 by the pressure of the accumulator RO acting on the right hand end thereof so that the accumulator pressure passes through the housing 170 and acts on the left hand side of the motor piston 128. When the load 122 has completed about one-half of its stroke the transmitter b displaces the valve piston 184 to the right so that its bevelled end 188 enters a self-centering escape opening 180 to throttle fluid being forced by the motor piston 128 back into the accumulator RO, the resulting backpressure decelerating the load 122. The escape opening is formed in a replaceable tool steel washer insert 182. The system also comprises two further transmitters a, c and their associated motor receivers 120, 116 and each transmitter is provided with a replenishing valve 106 and a relief valve 108, both of which communicate with a low pressure oil reservoir 104. The transmitters are each operated by a cam 12 fixed to a camshaft 10 rotatable by either a high speed hydraulic clutch 38 or a low speed hydraulic clutch 48. Air bleed fittings 198 are provided at high points on the housing 170. |
