The obstetrical forceps are equipped with a device limiting the angle opening of the forcep arms and the contact pressure made on the infant's head. Pref. these parametes are controlled by use of a sliding par displaced axially into the notches of one of forcep parts. The forcep arms (1, 2) are pivoted together using a pin (3) pressed into one part (1) and an aperture in the other arm (1). The sliding part (5) slides axially in relation to the forceps and has a sharp angled surface milled into the forcep arm (2) so that when the part slides along the angled surface the angle of opening is varied.
