PURPOSE: To provide a method of manufacturing a magnetic carrier such the surface of the magnetic particles of a precursor is modified and finely devided under control. CONSTITUTION: By treating a stabilized ionic ferro-fluid, containing precursor particles having electric charge on the surface, using at least a kind of chemical agent with which the surface characteristics of the above-mentioned particles can be modified, the above-mentioned particles can be stabilized in a non- polarity solvent or polarity solvent by about 3 to 11pH range, and for chemical reactivity or biological reactivity can be given to the above-mentioned particles in this magnetic particle manufacturing method. Various kinds of molecules can be fixed on particles by an electrostatic interaction, and biologically reactive molecules can be fixed on particles. The ferro-fluid is formed by the obtained particles can be used for industrial use, especially for biological diagonosis or the image diagnosis of medical treatment or it can be used for a chemical medium.
