This roller comprises a thermocouple (39), delivering a signal in voltage which is converted, by conversion means (86) on board the roller, into a constrained current of value independent of the resistance of the output circuit. The constrained current is transmitted to the stationary part of the measurement circuit by an assembly (90) comprising rotating rings/stationary collectors. These conversion means (86) are disposed in a casing (54) of the roller and are fitted with air cooling means.
