<p>PURPOSE:To lower the cost and to improve maintenance property at the time of forming a billet into a shape that the tip and rear end are wide and the part between them is concave and narrow with a vertical rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:Using screw down devices for vertical rolls which consists of hydraulic cylinders with a fixed stroke which are provided to roll chocks and motor-driven rolling-down screws with which the pistons of those hydraulic cylinders are moved, the rotation of vertical rolls is stopped in a fixed position from the tip of the billet, hydraulic oil in the hydraulic cylinders is discharged while moving the pistons with the motor-driven rolling-down screws, the rolling reduction of the motor-driven rolling-down screw is set and, after that, pressurized oil is charged into the hydraulic cylinders, the hydraulic cylinders are moved to their stroke ends and setting of the rolling reduction of the concave, narrow part of rolled stock is executed.</p> |
