PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which operational problems incident to direct print function are solved. SOLUTION: A facsimile A has a direct print function for printing data read out directly from a storage media C inserted into a slot section 25, and a function for processing data from the storage media C in response to access from a personal computer B wherein a CPU 10 disables processing of data from the storage media C in response to access from the personal computer B during print operation of data from the storage media C through direct print function.
